The CAPO Bib Short Guide

Your bibs are where you meet the bike. Get them right and you stop thinking about them. Here's how our lineup differs, and how to choose the right pair for the way you ride.

Where comfort starts

Three things decide how a bib feels

Fabric and pattern set the compression: how firmly the short supports your muscles, and how cleanly it holds its shape in the riding position.

Leg bands and bib upper decide whether the short stays put without pinching, and how much air moves across your back on a hot climb.

The chamois is where most of the comfort comes from. Every CAPO bib uses an Elastic Interface (EIT®) insert, designed and engineered in Italy and certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, and matched to the riding that bib is built for.

Every pair is designed in Colorado and made in Italy.

G.S. Gruppo Sportivo · $290

G.S. Padrone Aero Bib Shorts

Our flagship. Built for long, fast days on the road where weight, airflow and a smooth profile all count.

G.S. Padrone Aero Bib Shorts
Fit

Balanced compression that supports without squeezing, for circulation and recovery over many hours. Choose the 11" Regular for a modern look or the 13" Long for extra coverage on the thigh.

Materials

Ultra-light Lycra® with a silky hand. Raw-edge leg openings with minimal silicone sit flat, with no squeeze line or tan-line ridge. A bonded harness spreads the load evenly across your shoulders, and its ventilated yoke lets heat out across your back.

Chamois

Road Performance EIT® is rated by Elastic Interface for rides of 8+ hours, their highest rating. Four foam densities are pre-shaped to the road position, with a firm Hybrid Cell insert right under the sit bones. It's 14 mm where you sit and under 1 mm at the front, so you get support where it counts and nothing bunching where your legs move. A perforated, air-mapped top keeps skin temperature in check.

Super Corsa · $250

Super Corsa Race Bib Shorts

The race-ready foundation. Firm support for intervals, crits and the hard group ride.

Fit

A 12-panel anatomic pattern delivers fatigue-fighting compression and better circulation. Firmer than the Padrone, and the pick if you like your kit to feel locked in.

Materials

High-gauge, low-volume Race microfiber keeps the short thin and supportive, and the tight knit stands up to saddle abrasion season after season. 7cm Race Grip leg bands spread the hold over a wider area: they stay put without the sausage-leg squeeze of a narrow gripper. Single-piece elastic braces share the load evenly, with no seams to dig in.

Chamois

Anatomic CS EIT® is rated for rides of up to 7 hours. Five foam densities step down gradually from the sit bones outward, giving full support with as little bulk as possible. It's fully anatomic and pre-shaped for stability in the saddle, with a perforated cover for airflow.

For women

The SC Race Women's Drop Tail Bib Shorts use the same Race microfiber with a women's EIT® insert, and a drop-tail design with no hooks or velcro for quick nature breaks.

Super Corsa · $260

Super Corsa Race Cargo Bib Shorts

Race-grade support with room to carry the day. Made for gravel, long exploring rides and anything far from a café.

Super Corsa Race Women's Drop Tail Cargo Bib Shorts
Fit

The same 12-panel pattern and Race microfiber as the SC Race, so you keep the support on rough surfaces when fatigue sets in.

Pockets that work

Four cargo pockets, each with a job. The two thigh pockets hold a gel or bar you can grab while seated, no reaching behind you on loose gravel. The two lower-back pockets take a packed vest, tube or phone, close to your center of gravity so nothing bounces. Your jersey pockets stay free for the long days.

Chamois

Gravel Performance EIT® is rated for rides of 8+ hours. Long Hybrid Cell inserts and a perforated foam base absorb gravel chatter without trapping heat, and the pre-shaped, anatomic design moves with you as you shift around on rough ground.

For women

The SC Race Women's Drop Tail Cargo Bib Shorts bring the same storage with a women-specific EIT® insert and drop-tail design.

Super Corsa · $200

Super Corsa Classica Bib Shorts

Race-inspired fit at an everyday price. Super Corsa support for every training ride, not just the fast ones.

Super Corsa Classica Bib Shorts
Fit

A 13-panel anatomic pattern follows you into the riding position, with supportive compression that fights fatigue without the locked-in feel of the SC Race.

Materials

Medium-gauge Italian microfiber balances support and durability. 7cm power grip leg bands spread the hold so they stay put without squeezing, and a 360° stretch mesh bib upper vents well and moves with you. 10" inseam, with reflective inserts for low light.

Chamois

COMP HP EIT® with multi-density elastic foam. Rated for rides of [X] hours.

Corsa · $150

Corsa Bib Shorts

Everyday comfort, Italian-made. The bib for training rides, fitness miles and your first serious kit.

Fit

Classic European patterns with anatomic support. Supportive compression that feels relaxed rather than race-tight.

Materials

Medium-gauge Lycra® cut in a 12-panel pattern for smooth, even compression. 5cm compression leg bands keep it in place, and a 360° stretch mesh bib upper moves with you and vents well.

Chamois

Corsa SE EIT® is rated for rides of up to 5 hours. It's a slim, low-bulk pad: a high-density core sits under the main pressure points, and shaped wings help it follow your body. You get support without feeling the pad, at a friendlier price.

For women

Corsa Donna Shorts use high-gauge Lycra® in an 8-panel cut, a women's Corsa SE EIT® insert and 5cm power grip bands, with no bib straps.

Get it right

Fit, wear and care

How should bib shorts fit?

Snug everywhere, with no loose fabric at the legs or seat. Off the bike the straps can feel short; bend into your riding position and they should sit flat with gentle tension.

I'm between sizes. Up or down?

Check the CAPO size guide. Race-fit bibs are meant to feel close, so size down only if the larger size wrinkles in the riding position.

Do I wear underwear?

No. The chamois is designed to sit directly against your skin, where it manages moisture and stops chafing seams.

Is a thicker chamois better?

No. A thick, soft pad compresses under you within the first couple of hours and starts to move. What lasts is density and shape: foam that holds its form, firmer under your sit bones and thinner where your legs move. Our longest-rated pad, the 8+ hour Road Performance EIT®, is 14 mm at the sit bones but under 1 mm at the front.

Do I need chamois cream?

It's personal. Many riders use it on long or hot days to reduce friction. Apply to skin, not the pad.

How do I wash them?

After every ride: cold, gentle cycle, inside out, no fabric softener, and hang to dry. Heat breaks down Lycra® and chamois foam. Full details on our product care page.

How long will they last?

Cheap bibs give out at the seams and pill where you sit. Ours are sewn in Italy from high-gauge fabrics chosen to hold up to saddle abrasion, and every CAPO piece is backed by our 1-year quality guarantee. Rotating two or three pairs extends the life of each.
